Dizzee Rascal "Dream" - Music Video Analysis

Narrative - The main narrative and message in Dizzee Rascal’s Dream music video is his autobiography and how he made his dreams reality. He is telling his story trough out this song, how he started doing music as hobby and dreamed about winning awards to releasing his album and over 100,000 people buying it. Dizzee is talking to the young generation and how they can make their dreams come true. Representation  - On first viewing, the music video represents positive and encouraging message, together with the bright colours and use of muppets, the video expresses an upbeat song. We see a female pianist, white and in her 50s, presenting Dizzee Rascal to the audience. This scene is a reference to the children’s programme “Muffin the Mule” which was popular in UK, the show includes female pianist interacting with puppet mule and playing children songs on a piano. Water Aid- "Rain for Good"

General Conventions -The campaign name is “Rain for Good”, it donates money to people in Africa who don’t have access to clean water. The purpose of this advert is to show how precious is the water for African people in poorer parts of the continent.  The target audience is the middle/ working class people living in richer, western countries. Particularly in this advert, UK is presented in the beginning.  The advert uses direct mode of address as they include the main character's name- Claudia. This  makes  the  audience  feel more engaged with the  camping, as well it makes the advert more personal which can encourage the audience to donate more money.  Usually the adverts about Africa include scenes with poverty, people wearing minimum amount of clothes, many hungry children, which makes the viewers watching these videos feel guilty and almost uncomfortable.  In this advert the main character is singing and towards the end she is smiling happily and enjoying the clean water tog

Dress code, hairstyle, fashion, make-up-  Polka dot shirts, mainly red, white and blue colour palette associated with the American flag. Tied back hair with hairbands, allows women to do their domestic work without worries for their hairstyles. The women in this poster are wearing a red lipstick which was a key makeup product back in 1950s, 60s.   Ideologies and lifestyle-  One of the women’s main role was to do the whole house work, from cleaning the beds to washing the dishes. With this advert Tide products wants to show how for women the most important thing was to clean and they were expected to love it.   Use of text and language-  “Tide’s got what women want!”, emphasises how the washing products were something really important for women. Save the Children- Most Shocking Second A Day Analysis

General Convetions Campaign’s name is “Save Syria’s Children. The video is called “Most Shocking Second a Day Video”, which shows how a young girl’s life gets turned upside- down in this tragic second a day video. In the description box below the video it says “This is what war does to children” plus a link where audience can find out more about this campaign.  The advert’s narrative shows a girl in her everyday life atmosphere- her birthday, school, what she is eating, her playing instruments, laughing and smiling, all these happy moments and then little by little the advert’s atmosphere starts to get darker, news about bomb attacks, people running, hiding and eating rotten food, at the end of the video is shown how the girl is ‘celebrating’ her birthday in a hospital bed only with her mother. This whole narrative creates a feeling of guilt and empathy even more when they find out that this ad is for children who have been going through the same sad story.  The main purpose on thi
